Fogle/Stenzel Architects, Inc.

Kenneth J. Fogle and Jeffrey A. Stenzel established the corporation on April 1, 1986 after having worked together as Associates in one of Cleveland’s large architectural firms. Eric W. Schneider joined the firm in 1998 after 5 years of licensed practice with predecessor firms. Together they have managed their firm based upon key shared values. Primary, is an approach to architecture and construction that places our client’s organization, schedule, and financial needs first in solving building requirements. Secondarily, a commitment to the direct personal service of Principals to assure our clients are making informed choices and that we take direct responsibility for managing the design and construction process in a controlled business-like manner.

To preserve these qualities, we have maintained our office at less than 6 persons by design for more than 30 years. This scale assures the personal service of Principals and project continuity to our public and nonprofit clients (lost in the larger firm as projects pass through departments). At our firm, addition/remodeling projects are our primary assignments. Your project will not be displaced by larger work. Ken, Eric, and Jeff work directly with our clients and residential service providers to develop design ptions, construction documents, and observe the construction process. Fogle/Stenzel Architects (F/SA) has focused a significant portion of their practice on facilities for persons with developmental and physical ability limitations. The firm has designed more than 100 Specialized Housing facilities starting with North Coast Community Homes. Inc.’s Westlake ICF in 1986 and Eden, Inc.’s Mental Health affordable housing 40-unit apartment in the historical Ohio Freight Building on West 95th street in Cleveland, to the new 2020 Catholic Charities Housing Corp. Chardon Road Intermediate Care Facility. We have learned a great deal about these unique supportive environments and continue to contribute to solutions for specialized housing.

Mr. Fogle administers the firm and has primary responsibility for pre-design services and construction administration. He participates in the design development process and quality control of construction documents. He began his professional career as the project architect for 11 building (child and adult center) long range facilities plan for the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation in 1975. His career long advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities and experience as both consultant and in-house director of this public building program is a significant asset to managing our clients’ capital dollars.

Mr. Stenzel has primary responsibility for our cost estimating record including more than a 30-year history with numerous repeat clients of actual bids well within the 10% bid range required for public project award. Jeff’s code knowledge has contributed to the life safety performance of homes for the developmentally disabled throughout northeast Ohio and across more than a dozen service agencies operating under state licensure in Ohio. He and Ken have worked with state and local code appeal boards assisting in the development of life safety code evolution for this specialized housing, a building classification that did not exist at the start of our services.

Mr. Schneider is a LEED certified architect with more than 20 years focused on specialized housing needs. He has primary responsibility for design development and construction documents within the firm. He will apply his organizational, technical, and management skills in support of developing detailed bid documentation of building components, as well as, coordinating all our consulting engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Fire Protection) input.

We believe our personal service, technical, cost and schedule capabilities will be key to the success of your capital development program.
