Mission Statement
Glenmoira believes developmentally disabled adults deserve comfortable housing and love, dignity and respect in their care. Glenmoira is committed to providing a comfortable living facility for a service provider that will provide care for developmentally disabled adults using Christian values while providing love, dignity and respect.

Need for Residential Housing for Developmentally Disabled Adults
For the first time in human experience persons with developmental disabilities are outliving their caregivers, their parents. For example, the average life span of a person with Down Syndrome has increased from 9 years in the 1920s to 65 years or greater today.

In large part, this increase of life span is directly attributable to a general improvement in overall health care throughout American society. This increase in life span has brought with it numerous opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities to have choices as most adults do. Persons with developmental disabilities are encouraged to have homes in a community rather than institutional living.
We have confirmed the severe need for residential facilities of the type proposed with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. There is currently a waiting list of thousands of developmentally disabled adults in Cuyahoga County, Ohio who are in need of supportive residential housing and waiting periods can exceed 10+ years.

Glenmoira will address this housing and service need by acquiring residential housing and arranging for Family Haven, Inc., a highly respected, faith-based service provider, to ultimately own the home.
